Description
Tyrosinase is an enzyme expressed by normal melanocytes and melanoma cells. It catalyzes the initial and rate limiting step in the cascade of reactions leading to melanin production from tyrosine. CD8+ T cells specific for the Tyrosinase (369-377, 371D) peptide: YMDGTMSQV, have been found in significant abundance in tumor-infiltrated lymph nodes from melanoma patients, suggesting their role in natural T cell response to melanoma.
